Used Top-up TV cards, a word of warning.

I have had On-Digital (ITV Digital, Freeview) since its inception. I recently thought I would get a Top-up TV card from Ebay, and saw several used/secondhand cards available. Wondering how this would work against what I already knew, I phoned Top-up TV helpline.

The answer to the question, "can I use a card that has been previously registered by someone else?" was, "Only if the previous registered user contacts Top-up TV with your details prior to the re-connection otherwise the card is invalid".

Oh, and there is a £5.00 re-connection fee, nobody tells you about!

In answer to my question, "can I miss a month or two if there is nothing I want to see? " (which was suggested you can do by an Ebayer selling one) the answer was "Well you can, but you would be charged a £5.00 reconnection fee every time you restart"

So, be warned fellow Ebayers, Top-up TV is not a good idea secondhand.

Be safe, buy New!

Cheers and Happy Ebaying!
