1. What is Value Pack?
From what I gather, value pack is an item that is usually very popular (like games consoles), but just sold very, very cheaply either online or in poorer parts of the world because it's been poorly made. An example of a value pack item might be a poorly made Nintendo DS with a very pixely screen, games that don't work, and a box that has been marked with a biro instead of a computer or machine.
2. Where is Value Pack usually sold?
Value Pack items are usually sold in very poor parts of the world, like Asia, Hong Kong, and Africa etc. Sometimes you can get Value Pack items online, but they're usually reported and deleted very, very quickly, because most of the time people don't get their value pack items, or they're damaged or faulty.
I think Ebay must've kept a close eye on that section or something, because at one point Value Pack was almost spamming the site, and the next they were all gone.
3. Why shouldn't I buy Value Pack?
Value Pack items are usually very, very faulty. I think they're scams really to grab your money. You might think 'a Playstation 2..' or '..Nintendo DS for £10.99 and it hasn't been marked as used? What a great deal! This'll be something to get the kids for Christmas!' but the reality is, they have very pixely screens, maybe a cracked corner, rubbish sound quality, and so on. They might feel very plasticy and light, and won't work properly, and if it's an item with a camera, the camera may not record or take pictures.
I know to some of you it may sound obvious not buying electrical goods from poor countries, but there are a lot of people who still do it, even when the picture is a white square with 'Great Bargains Going Fast' marked on it and no actual picture of the item itself, and the item is priced suspiciously cheaply from somewhere like Hong Kong.
Anyway hopefully this guide will prevent more people from falling into the same trap of spending up to £50 - £60 on something that may not necessarily be what they want.
4. What games usually come with Value Pack?
I think games like Street Fighter and the Soccer games are most likely to come with the value packs, especially on the PSP and Nintendo DS. However, I don't own a Value Pack item and I've only seen two videos on YouTube that show you the games for Value Pack, so I'm afraid I can't answer this question very well.
You can see the videos on my Buying Tips and Guides page. This link will have the links to the videos in them. (It'll be under the guide called Value Packs, and it'll be under question 4 called Videos).
5. Proof that Value Pack is rubbish (YouTube videos).
I asked someone on YouTube if I could link back to their videos that they'd made of all the Value Pack items that they'd bought and had reviewed. I think they're making reviews on the poor quality items, so that people won't fall into the trap of buying the rubbishy goods, and get ripped off and then hate the real thing and tell people not to buy it.
