Please DO NOT buy fossils of chinese origin on e-bay. While I have no doubt that a few may be genuine it is illegal for a chinese citizen to export a fossil. It is NOT illegal to export a fake good and most sold on e-bay are indeed fake.

I stupidly purchased a scorpion in "genuine baltic amber" - This is obviously a fake!

Ebay really must stop these chinese sellers. The genuine sellers goods are being swamped by fraudulent sellers and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find the real thing.

Most of the UK based sellers are totally genuine and I strongly recommend that you purchase of them!
