Fake ipods are becoming increasingly more popular on ebay. Some of the ipods being sold (most 2nd gen ipod shuffles and 3rd gen nano) on ebay are not genuine!
Here is what to look out for-
-
Listings that obviously make an attempt to avoid using the brand name (Apple)
-
Listings that advertise there product as an mp3 player instead of an ipod nano/shuffle etc.
-
If the listing mentions that the product is an OEM, this means it is a copy of the real thing
-
Another of the main give aways is if the box says "mp3" on the side or anywhere on the box, this means it is NOT genuine, Apple use their brand name on their box, not "mp3"

I hope this helps you to avoid replica ipods on Ebay, as they are one of, if not the biggest scam on Ebay
many thanks ! ! !

One last thing - do not buy the item if it advertises its listing as a shuffle/nano etc, only think of buying it if its advertised as an iPod Shuffle/nano etc
HAVE YOU ALREADY BOUGHT THE "IPOD" BUT ARE NOW UNSURE THAT ITS GENUINE?
-
Then there is one main test to check if the ipod is geuine or not, and trust me, it doesn't fail.- Download itunes from the apple website, and register with the ipod's serial number. (located at the bottom of the rear side of the ipod). If there is no serial number then the "ipod is definitely fake. If the serial number works, then I recommend that you buy a song from the apple store, if the ipod can read the song then it is genuine
If you find an "ipod" on ebay that you are still not sure is genuine, then either compare a picture of the real thing to it and try to find any differences, or, if you are still stuck contact me through ebay with the item number and I will have a look and get back to you as soon as possible
