Cold Cast Bronze I am writing this article as I get asked all the time what exactly is Cold Cast Bronze?

Cold Cast Bronze can be described as bronze resin or sometimes just bronze when the seller is giving the colour of the item (eg. it may also be available in pewter). It is therefore very important to read the item description carefully!

The technique used for making items in cold cast bronze, involves blending bronze powder with epoxy designer resin to produce a material which is applied to the interior of a silicone mould.  The mould is then filled with a blend of resin and bronze metal powder which are then left to set.  The finished item has the look, cold feel and semetimes (although not always) the weight of a solid bronze piece.  All in all, a cold cast bronze item produces a piece of art which looks the part at a fraction of the cost of a solid bronze. It is also cheaper for posting which is a bonus for eBay buyers, particularly for overseas customers!
