I you have a good quality Microphone and Soundcard and you seem to have a good internet connection you might want to try buying a USB Telephone rather than using the Computer's Microphone and Speakers.

They only cost about £20.

You can configure the VOIP Software to use the USB Telephone (which will probably be listed as USB Audio Device) and still use the PC's speakers for Music etc.
