Bevelled glass mirrors  have  become a standard choice for most of today's interior designers who utilise the effects in creative ways to optimise the use of light within a room setting. 

Bevelled glass mirrors are normally a quarter inch thick and have a slant (or bevel) of approximately one inch wide at their edges to catch the light - creating interesting visual effects.

The bevels act as prisms which refract the light (artificial or sunlight) splitting it into the colours of the rainbow. A quality bevelled glass mirror highlights both the frame and the mirror design as a whole and this enchanting rainbow effect would be absent with plain glass.
