I'm sure that loads off people have written guilds/reviews on this, but i'm just killing some time and practicing my typing skills. as well as inflicting my common sense (or lack off) onto people that read this!
thank you for taking time out to read this! and my spelling mistakes =)
since i've started on ebay its been quite fun for me, i love my skincare products and most importantly a bargain!
before bidding/buying know the look of the product-packaging-size and retail price, as i've noticed some products/brands are sold for more on ebay! look up the product on the company's offical web site, not another on-line sales site. if the product is from usa for example look up the product on there usa web site etc as certain company's do specific product lines depending on the country, so packaging, name etc of product may be different from the uk lines. if the product is not on the offical site it could be an old phased out line or re-named one, or a complete fake product! if you think about how much people will spend on beauty products, then there will be people out there producing fakes!
know the look/feel of the contents! go to the cosmetic counters of product your interested in, and try/test a sample! check for how it smells, texture, colour. ask if you can look at a full sized product, is there a use by date? some beauty products/company's have a use by date. is it glass jar or plastic? or if products are sealed under the lid! some company's only box, or box with cellophane etc but some will have foil seals etc under the lid often with company logo/name. all la prairie jars i have come across have this seal! even the gift with purchase sized jars! however there sample tubes don't come with seals! and as there products are often white creams is it a re-filled tube or jar?
although a company may be based in a certain country, there products can be made in other countries, but it should state that on the product labeling. and normally it will be a specific product/s from a specific country
check the sellers other items and feedback! or about me page.
don't bid/buy on the wow factor! remember bids are binding! if you are un-sure contact the seller about look of content/product. if seller says they have receipt ask for photo scan sent to you etc. but regardless of what they tell you about product you should get some feel about the seller through your communication/s with them.
i prefer buying samples in sachets as these are sealed, but even then that is no proof that the sachets are not fake? so check other sellers selling sachet samples and look up the same product, so you'll know what the sachets should look like. i've noticed chanel do little carded sample pots in europe but sachets in the usa!
i hope this is of some help to you, as i have brought some items on the wow factor then realized its not what i'm looking for or its an old product and old products can be years old!
so if un-sure don't bid!
if the listing does not look right don't bid!
