Please take care when purchasing John Ditchfield art, there are unfortunately many fakes and its very easy to scratch the j ditchfield mark. only the early pieces, the ones with silver, and of course the one special editions or certified ones are signed. If you are ever in doubt about a piece dont hesitate to contact the seller for more information or Mr Ditchfield at 'glassform' his studio in Blackpool, Lancs. There are near exact makes of glass art ie; Heron glass is almost duplicate and you could be easily mistaken or worse buy a "Ditchfield" but be fobbed off with a cheaper copy.
Update 7/7/06
Please note due to threats of legal action by amos 19106 on behalf of heron glass I must point out the following:-
Amos 19106 state on behalf of Heron glass state that "all Heron glass is stamped on the bottom and there is not attempt to copy anything".
My review above does not state that Heron glass is a cheaper copy, neither do I wish readers of the guide to interpret this. But that there are fakes out there and are made or passed off by other people. As always it is up to the buyer and my guide is just that, a guide from my own personal experience.
Heron glass is a nice piece of glass art and readers should not refrain from purchasing this, as Heron glass itself is in itself nice product.
