Hi , eBay seems to have modified their their best search algo, and im sure all the sellers out there might have felt the pinch in one way or the other. Yes, this also means there are many sellers out there who have earned a jackpot in a few weeks time!! So, how does this new search work? Why do a few sellers sell truck loads of items? Why are new sellers struggling to sell even a quarter of what they used to sell? How to we increase sales... the million $$ question for all of us right?? Well, i cant tell you how to make a quick million, but i can sure provide some useful tips to increase visibility in ebay, and hence the possibility of some quick sales. Tips to make use of ebay's new search policy: 1. Item no longer are ranked on "ending soonest" in ebay's default search results. Instead, ebay ranks items based on the 'merit of the listings'. What does this mean? - It means, a listing in itself is considered an entity. The ranking of a listing depends on how many you have sold, how many of those have left positive feedback, how many left a neg, are postage costs high... etc. - The "history" of a listing is used to rank a listing higher up in ebay's search results. 2. ebay : Never a friend of high post costs: Well.. this trick works.. Reduce your postage costs, If possible make the item free postage! It could hurt in the beginning, but it sure will give its returns in a few days/weeks when your listing get a higher search ranking. 3. List items in GTC format and slowly start selling. Perhaps you could make use of "featured, plus, bold, etc" to get a sudden surge of sales and improve feedback of a listing. Remember, "feedback of a listing" matters. I am not addressing the importance of feedback and score of the ebay account itself. I suppose everyone of us knows this has to be good. So guys, start treating each individual listing as a store of its own, and you can see your sales rise in no time! Cheers!
