This site offers a good range of photos of fake spyder items to help you spot them in the listings - ebay are getting better at removing them but most stay there -copy and paste this link below and i am sure it will help you to see the most common fakes that are found on ebay [ sorry but this guide wont allow a direct link to another website ] - i find the easiest way to see them is the inner linning of the jacket - this was a design used by spyder 5 or 6 seasons ago but the fakers still use it - you can see it in lots of the photos from the link and in the left and right photos above [ the dark grey backing with silver spyder web pattern] the inside of a genuine legend range jacket should look like these photos below . If a spyder jacket claims to be a current model with the web linning you can see on the photos from the link and above then you know it is a 100% fake - if the seller hasnt included a pic of the inside, ask him for one- also all spyder jackets from the quest range upwards have a lens wipe on a shock cord ( a small chamoix cloth with spyders printed on it on the end of a retractable coil ) see photo above centre - you may like to ask for a photo of that to because the fakes dont have them - another easy tip is to look at the tags on the jacket , the tags on the fakes are always attached to the chest or neck area (ie the main zip veiwed zipped up or down ) but the tags on genuine ones are always attached to the end of the left sleeve or the lower left pocket (easy to read when hanging in the store racks - simple ) and remember that all spyder items have a model name be it zermatt , st anton , andermatt , avenger , vail or whatever there is no jackets that are just called legend range or spyder sking range - if you are in doubt about an item that is listed , i would be more than happy to tell you if it is genuine or not - just give me the item no.- hope this is of help - spyder is the best quality ski gear you can buy and it is expensive but worth it - dont buy that fake crap if you are a serious skier - if you have never been skiing before and buy one for 20 or 30 quid to try it then fine - if you want to go again then throw it in the bin and buy a proper one for next time - if you dont then use it to walk the dog in the winter - in the big mountain envoiroment your clothing could save your life - the last thing you want, is to be wet when stuck out in the mountain for the night - i am often asked how i can tell fakes from photos and the answer is the fakers make it easy beacause they have never made one that looks anything like a genuine model , so if you know the product - its easy - also watch out for a range of fakes that claim to be limited edition ipod jackets - this was a £1000 jacket when new , you wont get one for a 99p start - but its not all doom and gloom for finding genuine spyder on ebay - usa ebay sellers like otsimir , strykeback , skitopshop , bluesnowflake , edskis2 ,skiba5827 , freico and mercedesmix and mt*everest all only sell genuine spyder although mostly at buy it now prices - if you found this helpfull please give it a vote - thanks dave locke- ps ebay are making it harder to contact other ebay members unless they are involed in a buying or selling deal of some kind , but if you want to ask me for some advise about a listed item - please do it through an item i have listed for sale - thanks again.
