a couple of weeks back , i was trawling through the mobile phones listed , and spotted a samsung d600 boxed with all accessories brand new with a buy now price of £105 , i also noticed that there were three available, and that two had already been sold, not one to look a gift horse directly in the gob, i looked at the sellers feedback and score, feedback was 100% , been a member for 17 months and had a feedback score of 37.
That's fairly a ok i thought , and the fact that two other people had brought one each made it look ok 2, so i haggled the seller down to £260 for the last three, and thinking paypal would honour any fake sellers rip offs etc (well they say all their transactions are insured all over the site??) as u would naturally asume ?? - well don't assume..
So i paid £260 through my pal pal account, half from my remaining balance and half from my bank account,
That was on sunday evening, on thursday when there was no sign of the phones, i went to contact seller and to my absolute horror- he's no longer a registerd ebay user - gulp - i knew straight away i'd been ripped off. u know these things when yr wised up... so i thought ok i can contact ebay and paypal to help me here... more fool me, i phoned paypal straight away £1 a minute is the call cost !!! after £5-7 's worth of automated phone messages i finally get through to a human voice, great i think, help at last !!! no chance!! after another £10's worth of explaining the situ, he say's and i quote " the best thing you can do is send an email ??? and\or contact the seller??????
Paypal couldn't give a monkeys about my loss, i said if i have to wait ten days (ebay system) for a reply my money's going to be long long gone... they did absolutley nothing at all to help,or to recover ther money, to this day i've only been refunded £105 out of the £260 i paid , furthermore when they gave me that measly refund they closed the dispute ..???? how can a multi million pound organization not pay back in full the amount i've lost , me being a poor man .. and them with their millions, they make stiching us all up on every transaction u make..
Then a week later some one hacks my account and starts selling top of the range expensive and i'm sure also make believe phones from my piggin account !!!! ebay later invoiced me for those auctions , knowing i had reported suspicious activity on my account... Thanks again ebay - nice work
when i paid some one by cheque for a mobile phone and it never arrived after the cheque was cashed, ebay said they would try to recover the money from sellers funds - yea right ok -do i look stupid??? and you know what they said , we were not able to recover any money from seller and it's you who's gonna swallow it.... Thanks
happend again with another mobile phone, paid for it with paypal from my funds, never arrived , paypal said we'll recover the money from sellers funds if poss, oh look surprise he had no funds and guess who had to swallow the loss -paypal?? - ebay?? no mate me of course
when the shoes on the other foot and i had a customer return goods which he claimed were faulty ( They wern't at all he had just paid over the odds ("his look out i believe) i had no funds in my account so paypal just (IN my eyes quite unlawfully) seized £180 on my creditcard without me authorizing it to pay the customer back....... can't quite do the same for me though!!!!!
