If you're Ni-Cd batteries for your power tools are not holding their charge as long as they used to, try placing the discharged battery in a plastic bag and putting in the freezer overnight. Then  - making sure the battery is dry - charge the following day. This seems to refresh the cells unless there is actual physical damage.
