Permatease:
Many fibre wigs are produced on a machine wefted and net top foundation. With many of these styles you will notice backcombing on the root area. This is called Permatease which gives root lift where required.

Skin Partings:
Depending on the style, some wigs are produced with a skin parting. This is where the hair is drawn through a skin coloured material to give a more natural look.
Monofilament top:
Many wigs nowadays are produced with a monofilament top, which is constructed with either a double or single layer of monofilament, this gives a smoother, softer feel at the top and crown, the hair/fibre is hand knotted into this area giving the appearance of hair growing from the scalp. With monofilament tops you can change the parting slightly.

Hand knotted foundations:
Some wigs are made on a hand knotted foundation instead of machine wefted. Hand knotted foundaitons are made from a 5 way stretch net which is very light weight and the hair/fibre is hand knotted into the netting.

Size of wigs:
Most wigs come on a standard 54 cm foundation. Some wigs do come in petite sizes. All wigs have elastic adjusters in the nape area, which can be pulled in to make the wig smaller or let out to increase the size.

Tape tabs:
Some wigs are constructed with polyurethane tape tabs which are normally located at the front and sides of a wig. Double sided mono tape can be used on these areas for added security.
